The Formula: Transformation Requires New Inputs

There is a simple formula for change:

New Inputs + New Community = New Outcomes

If your inbox, inner circle, and internal self-talk have not changed…

Your outcomes likely haven’t either.

But that stops today. You are here because you are ready for bold outcomes.

I hope taken inventory and started clearing headspace from my advice in from part 1 and 2. Now it is time rewire your environment with inputs that actually ignite you.

From Chaos to Clarity: An Example of Input Reset

Lisa had been in nursing for nearly a decade. Smart, reliable, calm under pressure—but quietly, she was worn out.

  • Every family and work group text was a complaint thread.

  • Her podcast lineup was filled with stories of burnout without actionable advice.

  • Her social feeds? A swirl of “you missed this opportunity” and “why aren’t you doing more?” and DRAMA!

She was not broken. She was overloaded with low-value inputs.

Lisa worked at the hospital with a past member of The Bold Nurse Academy and then, Lisa joined The Bold Nurse Academy.

Then she began to silence the noise — the low-value inputs — and built a plan.

☑️ She replaced chaos-scroll and “group texts” with guided journaling.

☑️ She unfollowed 2 podcasts and started following new podcasts.

☑️ She added 5 colleagues per day on LinkedIn and connected with two bold nurse peers to her inner circle.

☑️ She built a personal board of directors.

☑️ She interviewed for an role she—that a month earlier—would not have applied for.

Now, Lisa’s input reset changed everything and her outcomes are changing!

The Science Behind Your Inputs & Outcomes

Neuroscience confirms what personal development has been teaching for decades:

  1. Your brain’s neuroplasticity means it rewires based on what you repeatedly think and experience.1

  2. Repetitive negative content or interactions can raise cortisol levels, reinforcing anxiety and fear-based decision making.2

  3. Positive, solution-focused content encourages critical thinking, innovation, and optimism—exactly what career transitions demand.3

Your brain responds to what you consume and who you interact with.

You Are Not Alone: What Our Polls Reveal

Over the last two weeks, we asked about the inputs shaping your life and career—from the media you consume to the voices you allow in. Your answers revealed a powerful truth: you are not alone in your challenges, and you are not imagining the impact.

Part 1 Polls: Mental Inputs Matter

When asked what most influences your mindset:

  • 66% said social media

  • 30% said work conversations

  • Only 3% pointed to their own self-talk

And when asked what they most wanted to clean up:

  • 60% chose general overwhelm or chaos

  • 28% said negative social comparison

  • 6% cited scarcity thinking

📣 What this tells us: Your mental space is overloaded—and much of it is coming from external noise, low—quality inputs, not inner doubt. That is a bold insight!

Part 2 Polls: People Inputs Are Powerful

When we asked whose opinion most influences your career confidence:

  • 40% said a supervisor or manager

  • 40% said a professional mentor or coach

  • Only 18% said “Other”—and almost no one chose social media or coworkers.

And when it comes to boundaries:

  • 31% struggle with limiting exposure to negativity, drama, or gossip

  • 30% struggle with separating work stress from personal time

  • 29% find it hard to say no to extra responsibilities

📣What this tells us: Even confident professionals are deeply shaped by workplace and life-family dynamics, and the inability to protect your mental energy is a major obstacle to growth.

Why Your Poll Results Matters

These results show that even top-performing nurses and healthcare professionals—just like you—are navigating hidden influences and boundary breakdowns. The way you feel is not about your personal willpower.

You need to learn to be intentional, strategic, and bold about what you choose and allow in as well as who you allow near. That is what this 3-part series has been about!
